Toronto Blue Jays long-time broadcaster Arash Madani broke the devastating news yesterday that after 16 years at Sportsnet he was fired.
Madani spent 14 of those years as the Blue Jays on field reporter as well as one of the host for Blue Jays central up until 2023 when he decided to pivot away from baseball.
Dan Schulman and Jamie Campbell pay tribute to Arash Madani after he was fired
The long time Sportsnet broadcast, Madani, posted a long goodbye on social media yesterday, announcing that he had been let go by Sportsnet while also thanking them for all the opportunities they gave him over the years.
À bientôt mes amis --
Blue Jays broadcasters and fellow collegues, Dan Schulman and Jamie Campbell quickly replied to his post wishing him nothing but the best and stating how great of a reporter he truly is.
Unparalleled in his craft and a top-notch human to boot. We'll miss you friend.
Wishing you the best Arash. You're a great teammate. The nicest Vikings fan I know. I look forward to whatever comes next for you.
Even NHL insider Elliotte Friedman who worked closely with Madani for many years took to social media to wish an old friend nothing but the best in his future.
Very sorry to hear, Arash. Love your work and your passion.
You will be great wherever you go
The reasoning behind the firing has still yet to be announced but it looks like Sportsnet was simply just pivoting and moving on from Madani.
