Alex Bregman is expecting to sign a $300 million contract in free agency which the Blue Jays might give him

I like Bregman, but whoever does this is nuts
Bregman is coming off a decent season in Houston where he hit 26 homeruns, 75 RBIs with a .260 batting average and .315 on base percentage which is far from his best season but still solid overall.
While Bregman is one of the best free agents on the market this off-season, he is most definitely not worth $300 million especially since most insiders believe he will begin to decline over the next year.
This move makes no sense for the Blue Jays who are looking to spend money in smart way which giving a 30 year old Bregman a $300 million contract is far from that especially when there is more talent players on the market for the same or less money.
If the Blue Jays end up spending this much money to bring in Bregman but fail to sign superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr to a contract extension, fans will likely revolt in some way and there will surely be a lot less fans in the stands.
