Former Blue Jays pitcher Kendall Graveman signs with the Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed RHP Kendall Graveman to a one-year contract, worth $1.35 million. The contract includes a mutual option for 2026, worth $5 million or a $100,000 buyout. Graveman, 34, missed all of the 2024 season.
D-backs, RHP Kendall Graveman reportedly agree to 1-year deal, per multiple reports including http://MLB.com's @SteveGilbertMLB
Graveman missed the entire 2024 season after dealing with an injury that needed surgery and took the year off to recover but when looking at his 2023 numbers, he put up a solid 3.12 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 66.1 innings pitcher.
Some Diamondbacks fans are not very happy with the move as they believe the team should have done more to improve their bullpen than adding a 35 year old pitcher.
kendall graveman is the most dbacks-a*s bullpen move ever (non-complimentary). this team looooves its clearly-about-to-fall-off-a-cliff vetean relievers. loves em more than anything
Graveman's time in Toronto was not very long as he was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 2013 MLB draft and made his debut in 2014 finishing with a 3.86 ERA in 4.2 innings pitched before being traded to Athletics as part of the deal that brought in Josh Donaldson.
