The Toronto Blue Jays have found themselves a new starting pitcher

The Toronto Blue Jays decided to call up Easton Lucas from Triple-A earlier this week to replace Max Scherzer who was placed on IL.
Scherzer has been dealing with a serious thumb injury since last season and was moved to IL after being pulled out of his first game of the season against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Blue Jays have found a new starting pitcher in Easton Lucas
Lucas was one of the last players cut by the Blue Jays prior to Opening Day which is why he was their first call when Scherzer went down with his thumb injury as he made his first start yesterday.
The Blue Jays were looking for their first sweep on the season against the Washington Nationals yesterday with Lucas set to make his first start of the season in which he helped them in a 4-2 win over Washington.

After the game, Lucas stated that when he got back to the locker room after the game he had a few hundred texts waiting for him after a brilliant performance at the Rogers Centre.
"I got back (to the locker-room) and I had a couple of hundred text messages," he said. "I haven't gone through them yet because I was showering and getting ready for this (media scrum). I'm going to go over there and start responding as soon as I get the chance." -Lucas
Lucas had an incredible game as he pitched 5 innings giving up only 1 hit with zero earned runs as he also struck out 3 batters and only walked 2 in a total of 74 pitches on the night.

When Scherzer went down, the Blue Jays were worried that they had no one to replace him as he recovered but Lucas has stepped into that role and prove what he can do in the majors.
