The Toronto Blue Jays chose Palmegiani in the 35th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft from Vauxhall High School, but he didn't sign with them. Instead, he played college baseball first at California State University, Northridge, then transferred to the College of Southern Nevada. In 2021, he was picked again by the Blue Jays, this time in the 14th round, and he agreed to sign.
Palmegiani began his pro career with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Blue Jays, where he played 17 games, hitting .333 with two homers and nine RBIs. He spent the 2022 season split between the Low-A Dunedin Blue Jays and High-A Vancouver Canadians, accumulating a total of 119 games, hitting .239 with 24 homers and 83 RBIs. The following year, in 2023, he moved up in the Blue Jays' minor league system, starting with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats and later getting promoted to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons towards the end of the season. Across 128 games that year, he hit .255 with 23 homers and 93 RBIs. In the offseason, he played 22 games for the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.
