Many believe that
Bellinger would decline his player option attempting to see what he could get on the open market and hopefully land on a team that has a chance of making the playoffs but has decide to stay in Chicago as they rebuild.
The Cubs are in the process of rebuilding after missing the playoffs for the fourth straight year but since they finished with a 83-79 record, there is a chance that they can turn this team around next season if the right pieces are acquired.

Cody Bellinger will stay with the Cubs for the 2025 season, per multiple reports
It looks like the Blue Jays will have to look elsewhere as they hope to improve their offense in free agency this winter but luckily there are a ton of players available heading into the winter.
