Cubs Cody Bellinger is officially off the market

Bellinger is coming off a decent season on a terrible Cubs team in which drove in 78 runs in 130 games while also hitting 18 homeruns with a batting average of .266 on the season.

Many believe that Bellinger would decline his player option attempting to see what he could get on the open market and hopefully land on a team that has a chance of making the playoffs but has decide to stay in Chicago as they rebuild.

There were rumors of the Toronto Blue Jays possibly being interested in signing Bellinger if he ended up hitting the market but it looks like he has decide to stay for at least another year with the Cubs.

The Cubs are in the process of rebuilding after missing the playoffs for the fourth straight year but since they finished with a 83-79 record, there is a chance that they can turn this team around next season if the right pieces are acquired.

It looks like the Blue Jays will have to look elsewhere as they hope to improve their offense in free agency this winter but luckily there are a ton of players available heading into the winter.
