Former Toronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano has been off to a disaster of a start with the Philadelphia Phillies but superstar Bryce Harper came to his defense during an interview.

Romano signed a one year deal with the Phillies this off-season after being non-tendered by the Blue Jays but things have been off to a rocky start as he lost his spot as the Phillies closer recently.

Bryce Harper comes to Jordan Romano's defense after terrible start with the Phillies

Romano has been off to a terrible start so far this season as his ERA currently sits at 15.75 this season through 4 innings pitcher while somehow managing to get at least 1 save in that time.
After blowing the Phillies lead against the Los Angeles Dodgers, reporters asked Bryce Harper about Romano's struggles so far this season to which he stated he should keep his head up and keep going.
In recent remarks captured by Tim Kelly of On Pattison, Harper was asked about Romano's situation. His response was a supportive, «Keep head up, keep going.» Harper also emphasized that the pitcher has delivered quality innings for the team overall, which is why he's entrusted with his role. -Tovar

I asked Bryce Harper if there's anything you can say to a teammate like Jordan Romano when they get off to a slow start.
@OnPattison
Clearly Harper believes that Romano is just dealing with getting comfortable with his new team and that if he continues to push, they will get Romano back to the high end closer he once was.
At the same time, it is hard not to look at Romano's injury from last season and wonder if his arm is simply not the same anymore and that he cannot be a top end closer anymore.
