The Toronto Blue Jays fans have been vocal for quite some time about their displeasure with the front office, especially Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins.
The fans are mad about the lack of smart decisions made by Shapiro and Atkins such as spending all off-season last year focusing on Shohei Ohtani all for him to sign with the Dodgers.
Despite major mistakes such as the Ohtani situation, the real issue the fans have with the front office is the lack of accountability from Atkins and Shapiro. The two of them have acknowledged that this has been a disappointing season but have often pointed the finger at the players instead of taking some of the blame.
Since they are the two that put the team together, fans believe that they should be held responsible for the disappointing season yet it feels like their jobs are secure as Rogers has mentioned that they have faith in them.
In the fallout, the front office, specifically Atkins, refused to take accountability. Instead, he left it to manager John Schneider to fall on the sword. Even if the front office didn't have a hand in that game plan and input into the team's day-to-day, as the «top dog,» it falls on Atkins. Everything that happens, on and off the field, should fall on Atkins, and Shapiro - Fischer
There needs to be some serious changes in the Blue Jays front office if they plan on actually making a push for a World Series in the near future
Until president and CEO Mark Shapiro and general manager Ross Atkins stand up and take responsibility and are accountable for their mistakes from this failed run, it's hard to see a path to a turnaround. - Fischer
