The Blue Jays have been struggling with injuries especially with their starting pitchers as news broke a few days ago that Alek Manoah is done for the season and on top of that Yariel Rodriguez is still out.
According to reports, Rodriguez is set to make a rehab start in triple-A today where he will make 70-75 pitches. Following this game, the Blue Jays will decide if it is time to bring him back to the lineup.
Yariel Rodrguez will start in Triple-A tomorrow. The #BlueJays want to see him reach 70-75 pitches, then it's decision time.
Having Rodrguez as the No. 5 with Francis in a long role feels like it makes sense, but this could still take a lot of different shapes.
If the Blue Jays can get Rodriguez back, it will make a huge difference as they currently have Bowden Francis in the number 5 spot of their rotation.
