After the Chicago White Sox were officially eliminated from making the MLB post season, it seems there season has gone from bad to worse, if that is even possible.
There is a lot of talk surrounding the team that they could have the worst win percentage and least amount of wins in MLB history since the inauguration of the stat cast era. Not to rub salt into their wounds but they also lost 21 straight games tying the American League record set by the Baltimore Orioles back in 1988.
The White Sox past another disappointing milestone, loses their 100th game on Sunday to the Detroit Tigers in game 131 of the season. Only the Philadelphia Athletics in 1916 reached 100 losses faster, doing so in 130 games.
The team currently has 31 wins and 102 losses and is just barely squeaking out the quote on quote worst team ever, the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, who went on to finish 36-117 for a record-low .235 winning percentage The 2024 White Sox have a winning percentage of just .237 and if they continue this, pace they will easily break the Athletics record.
