Vladimir Guerrero Jr is now in a race for the MVP after completing turning his season around.
Back in 2021, Vladdy finished second in American League voting with batting numbers that look nothing like this seasons. In 2021, he hit .311/.401/.601 with an OPS of 1.002, 48 home runs and 111 RBI's.
This season, his home run totals and RBI's are lower but batting average and OBP are a lot better. This season Vladdy is hitting .322/.398/.558 with an OPS of .956. With his slow start to the season he has been unable to have high totals but he still has a respectable 27 home runs and 87 RBI's.
Realistically, he wont win the MVP this season but if he were to have perform this well right out of the gate, he would be a no brainer to be in the running.
Do you think Vlad will continue this caliber of play going into next season?
