Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim owner, Arte Moreno has announced that he will be making big changes for next season in order for the team to finally compete and make the playoffs for the first time in 10-years.
The Angels have their sights set on contending in 2025 and expect their payroll to increase, per owner Arte Moreno
It is no surprise that the Los Angeles Angels have been one of the worst teams in baseball for some time now. They lost the leagues best player in Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout has been stuck there for 14 years.
The team has not made the postseason since 2014, and this season the Angels finished the year with an organization record worst of 99 losses as they went 63-99.
Now, Arte Moreno is making big predication for next season...
"That's our goal," Moreno told the Orange County Register. "We're looking at '25-'26, because of the young people coming, but our goal is to be in the playoffs in '25."
Moreno claimed he intends to allow the Angels to increase their payroll this winter, albeit not to the levels they established in 2023, back when Shohei Ohtani was still on the roster. His "marching orders" to general manager Perry Minasian, he told the Register, are to "build a team that can compete for a playoff spot." - Anderson
Do you think with the changes made by Arte Moreno, that the Los Angeles Angels have a chance at making the 2025 postseason?
