Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho was finally named a Gold Glove Award winner which means he now has a chance at winning the Rawlings Platinum Glove Award.
Varsho finally won a Gold Glove last night after an incredible 2024 season where fans were convinced he would win despite being snubbed the last couple of seasons out of the award.

Since Varsho was named a Gold Glove winner for centerfield, he will now be eligible to win the Rawlings Platinum Glove award for the best defensive player in the American League across all positions.

Voting for the award is officially now open as fans have headed straight to the Rawlings website to vote for Varsho as he deserves to win with the award being as he was the best outfielder in baseball this past season.
If Varsho is awarded the Rawlings Platinum Glove award, this would be the first time since this award was created in 2011 that a Blue Jays players would be crowned the best defensive player in the American League.
The fact that Varsho was able to put together such an incredible denfennsive season on a disappointing Blue Jays team should also be factored into why he is the most deserving of the Platinum Glove out of all the Gold Glove winners.
