The Toronto Blue Jays organization is quite excited with the prospect that they acquired Nick Sandlin as a part of the Cleveland Guardians trade in December where they received Andres Gimenez.

The right-handed reliever has been discussed as a great addition to the team and could be a gem that will give the Blue Jays bullpen a much different look. Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke highly of his new pitcher.

Sandlin will offer a different look to the bullpen as Blue Jays continue to evaluate

"He's kind of the underrated guy of the bullpen," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Saturday. "I was just as thrilled to get him as we were Andres."

"He's really useful," Schneider said. "Low maintenance and understands exactly what he needs to do to be good." - John Schneider

He had a superb 8-0 record along with an ERA of 3.75. He held opposing batters to an average of .222 and had 68 strikeouts through 57 and 2/3 innings.

Sandlin excited to play for the Blue Jays this season

He mentioned in his interview, but he had needed time to process the trade but mentioned that he is thrilled to come to the Blue Jays and hopes to be an important component as the team looks to bounce back from their terrible season last year.
The Blue Jays bullpen may not have a second lefty. But it does have Nick Sandlin's outlier splitter

"After a couple days went by, I just started to get excited for what's to come," he said. "I'm happy to be here and I'm ready to get rolling." Nick Sandlin

He also spoke about his pitching style and how he likes to use it and potentially fool opponents and throw them off their game.
"I try to get down in there as much as I can at this point," Sandlin said. "It's mostly sidearm, just trying to create a little deception, a little something different for hitters to have to pick up the ball from." Nick Sandlin
The Toronto Blue Jays made headlines with their acquisition of Andres Gimenez from the Cleveland Guardians, but the inclusion of right-hander Nick Sandlin in this trade could prove equally impactful. Sandlin, an underrated addition to the bullpen, posted an 8-0 record and a 3.75 ERA last season, showcasing his potential as a reliable middle-inning option.

The Blue Jays are looking for their bullpen to be better as they finished last in the American League with an ERA of 4.82.
Schneider along with his coaches will have newcomers Jeff Hoffman, Sandlin, Garcia and likely move Yariel Rodriguez to the bullpen to help strengthen the position which could help the Blue Jays win more ball games.
General manager Ross Atkins has also mentioned that he will continue to look through the trade market and may find himself acquiring another pitcher or more relievers as the Blue Jays will evaluate their roster through grapefruit league and when they're ready on Opening Day.
