Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins recently answered some questions and the message has been demoralizing fans for the upcoming season since it seems like more of the same.
The Blue Jays had one of their worst seasons in the last decade in 2024 and while many hope for a better outcome in 2025, Blue Jays fans are not sure the current front office can lead this team in the right direction.
Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins gives demoralizing message regarding upcoming season
Atkins did mention that the Blue Jays are looking to improve their pitching and their offense but failed to give any specifics which is nothing new for him.
When asked about the 2025 season, Atkins stated that the team in excited for the team to get better in 2025 and mentioned how the energy in the organization has them excited as well.
"We need to improve our bullpen - that is the clear area of opportunity for us - but (we are) really excited about the energy here and our opportunity to get better," Atkins said.
In almost 10 years with the team, fans have heard this type of message from Atkins on too many occasions when nothing ended up happening which is why so many fear that 2025 will be another disappointing season.
It is also hard to believe that anyone in the organization is excited about the upcoming season with no real plan. It is possible that the only two that are excited are Atkins and Shapiro since no one including probably themselves thought they would still be around.
