The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to bring in some help for their offense this season and former Boston Red Sox outfielder Tyler O'Neill could be that players.
Free agent Tyler O'Neill's projected contract revealed and the Blue Jays could definitely afford it
O'Neill is coming off a great season in Red Sox despite the team not achieving the success that they had hoped for as he put up great numbers at the plate with 31 homeruns and 61 RBIs in 113 games in Boston.
According to reports, O'Neill is set to sign a 3 year deal worth around $48 million which would be a great deal for the Blue Jays since they need both a solid hitter and an outfielder which he can fill both holes for.
Now he is going to get paid well in free agency with Spotrac currently predicting that he will get a three-year deal worth $48 million. Will that be with the Red Sox? That is up in the air right now. Both sides have shown interest in a deal but nothing is certain. -McAvoy
Toronto is surely at the top of O'Neill list in terms of team he would like to since with since he is Canadian and would get to play in from of his fellow Canadians on a nightly basis.
O'Neill will likely be pursued by multiple teams this off-season but hopefully the Blue Jays will be part of that list since they could benefit from bringing him in.
