Toronto Blue Jays fans are not happy with a recent announcement suggesting that the Blue Jays could look at trading Davis Schneider for Marcus Stroman and Ben Rice.
The Blue Jays are still in need of a couple more moves if they plan on being competitive next season and as most top free agents have now been signed, they are looking at possible trades.

Bleacher Report recently suggested that the Blue Jays could be interested in bringing back pitcher Marcus Stroman and acquiring Ben Rice in exchange for Davis Schneider.

The Yankees are actively trying to shed Stroman's salary off of their payroll, but haven't found any suitors yet. Stroman isn't exactly is old self and has been steadily trending in the wrong direction. -Dionis

While Schneider did not have an incredible 2024 season, he did show a ton of potential especially as he came out of the gate extremely strong before cooling off in the second half of the season.
Fans are not too pleased with this trade as they would have to take on Stroman's massive $18.5 million contract while he is coming off a rough season in 2024 despite doing well in 2023 with the Chicago Cubs.
Stroman is owed $18.5 million in 2025 with a vesting option for 2026. His average fastball velocity was a career-low at 90.6 mph, and his 1.47 his WHIP was not great, while opponents batted .275 against him. -Dionis
While adding Ben Rice could be a solid addition for the future, some would argue that Schneider could end up having a better upside in the future which is why moving him could be a mistake.
Fans also love Schneider and would simply hate to see him go, especially to the Yankees.
