Daily Hive Contributor Adam Laskaris feels that the Toronto Blue Jays are on the verge of making a major trade as the team continues to have one of the quieter off-season's in team history.
Blue Jays Made Several Small Signings Lately including Vladimir Guerrero Jr
These small deals including seven one-year contracts and settling with
Vladimir Guerrero Jr and
Daulton Varsho is business that needs to be taken care of but clearly lacks a major trade to shake up the roster.

At this point all i think the Jays should do to bring everything together is Sign Santander Sign Bregman Sing/Trade for a min decent rotation guy Get another lefty in the pen to bring everything together
Larkaris thinks that the Blue Jays will not run the team back like they did in 2024 as their records showed 74-88 record which is dismal considering the payroll that was used.
But if you watched the 2024 Blue Jays, you'd likely realize that running it back isn't a likely recipe for success, after the team went just 74-88, some 20 games back of the division lead. - Adam Laskaris Daily Hive
Blue Jays Management Needs to take a Couple of Big Swings
Blue Jays ownership has indicated that they are willing to spend to make this team better and as they are the only team in Canada, it would certainly be wise to do so as the fan base is quite strong across the country.
The Phillies and Blue Jays basically traded relievers this offseason. Today, the Blue Jays signed Jeff Hoffman to a three-year deal. Earlier, the Phillies signed Jordan Romano. Hoffman now returns to the city that originally drafted him in 2014 after an All Star 2024 season.
Both Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins and President Mark Shapiro need to make a few blockbuster trades to shake up the roster.
This team needs to be back on track especially if they want to improve their fan base experience after pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the Rogers Centre during its renovation.
I agree with Mr Laskaris that the team needs to take steps to trade for some big names to help improve themselves.
If the Blue Jays want to get better, they must shake up the roster somehow. And if free agency hasn't been a successful team-building avenue, the team's front office will be all but forced to make another blockbuster trade or two. - Adam Larkaris Daily Hive
It's safe to say the way the current roster stands, that the team will likely not compete in the American League East for another season.
Hopefully something will be done sooner rather than later which could send shockwaves through the MLB.
