Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Ernie Clement recently went on the JD Bunkis podcast to talk about his 2024 season and his future with the Blue Jays moving forward.

The Blue Jays are still uncertain on what to do with Clement since he would be a great for their infield next season but if they end up signing Alex Bregman or Pete Alonso, he could end up being moved.

Blue Jays Ernie Clement spot on his future in Toronto and his 2024 season on the JD Bunkis podcast

On the JD Bunkis podcast, Ernie Clement spoke on his excitement for next season after how 2024 went as he believes he has a lot more to show and that he will have an even better 2025 season.
"I've put the work in, I've prepared and I'm extremely confident in what I can do," Clement said Wednesday on The JD Bunkis Podcast. "There's a lot more than what everyone saw last year and I can get to a whole 'nother level and I'm just super excited to get going." -Clement

Clement stated that he has learned a ton over the past few seasons from his struggles to his moments of his glory which have helped him a ton in becoming the player he know is.
"I just think I failed so much at the minor league level, at the major league level, I've just made sure to learn from all of that," Clement told Bunkis. "I got a taste of the major leagues in 2021, and then 2022 and I just did not take advantage of the opportunity that they gave me. I absolutely learned from it and then came back in 2023 and Toronto gave me an awesome opportunity to just kind of prove that I belong." -Clement

Last season, Clement was a Gold Glove finalist as his defensive game shined above all else but he still put up decent numbers in his first full season in the majors with 12 homeruns, 51 RBIs and a .263 batting average.
Clement batted .263 with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs last season with Toronto and finished as a Gold Glove Award finalist. While not eye-popping offensive numbers, the infielder was a mainstay in the lineup, playing 139 games. -Sportsnet

If the Blue Jays end up missing out on Alonso and Bregman, the good news is that they will be able to keep Clement who should continue to improve.
