The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that pitcher prospect Adam Macko has successfully underwent surgery on his knee and will miss significant time.
Earlier this week the Blue Jays stated that Macko had an MRI after feeling some discomforts in his knee which showed that his meniscus was torn and that he would possibly need surgery.
Canadian lefty prospect Adam Macko has a meniscus tear in his left knee, said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Macko felt something during a weekend side and has an appointment Wednesday. He's looking at a probable surgery, added Schneider.

Macko had an MRI that revealed he tore his meniscus and that it would likely take surgery to repair which he underwent and is not beginning the recovery process according to manager John Schneider.
Schneider also stated that Macko's timetable for his return is still uncertain and they will have a better idea of the timeline once the pitcher returns to the team and is started to heal a bit.

«We'll kind of see the timeline when he gets back here and recovered a little bit,» he added.

This is a terrible break for Macko who many saw as possibly getting a chance to pitch in the majors this season and were excited to see him in Spring Training.
Hopefully Macko is able to recover at a rapid rate and will be back on the mound shortly but it is certainly a bad start to his season.
