Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster Jamie Campbell gives major update on Vladimir Guerrero Jr situation

The Blue Jays and Guerrero are now in the final day of negotiations as he has made it clear that he would no longer talk of an extension after the first full squad practice at Spring Training which is tomorrow.

Everyone in Toronto and around the MLB is waiting to see if the Blue Jays can finally come to an agreement with Guerrero today and if what their plan will be with him for the 2025 season.

Broadcaster Jamie Campbell stated on a podcast that Edwin Encarnacion told him that Toronto has a tough time landing free agents because they have never experienced Toronto fully as a player which is the only way for a player to truly understand how incredible it is.

According to Encarnacion, Toronto is the most unique situation in all of baseball and because Guerrero has been here and has seen that experience first hand, Campbell believes that they will be able to keep him because he wants to stay.

Hopefully Campbell is right but the good part is that Guerrero has been vocal about the fact that he does want to play for the Blue Jays for the rest of his career but will also not take a pay cut to do so.

It looks like the only issues can come from management not making him a good enough offer to turn away from wanting to test the free agent market.

As the deadline is less than 24 hours away, the Blue Jays need to simply make him a real offer and not try to low ball him if not he will simply walk away.
