The Toronto Blue Jays offense has been doing much better this year than it did last year but there is still room for improvement which is why they have been urged to sign JD Martinez.
Blue Jays urged to sign 6 time all-star JD Martinez
As the Blue Jays game against the Orioles was cancelled yesterday due to rain MLB insider Jon Goldberg decided to take to social media and state that the Blue Jays could benefit from signing JD Martinez.
Goldberg defended him claim by stating that he had an above average year at the plate in 2024 finishing in the 94th percentile and made lots of solid contacts which the Blue Jays could benefit from.
Think the Blue Jays should be taking a long, hard look at J.D. Martinez
Maybe he doesn't have much left but he was still above average at the plate last year
He was in the 94th percentile in barrel and made lots of hard contact in 2024
The MLB insider then answered some fans replies on this post stating that the only spot that would make sense for the Blue Jays to play
Martinez would be at DH since he can no longer field the ball.
DH is all he can do at this point.
Last season, Martinez finished with 16 homeruns, 69 RBIs to go along with a .235 batting average and .320 on base percentage which is definitely a lot better than a few players on the Blue Jays roster right now.
If they could get him at a cheap price, signing Martinez could make sense.
