The Toronto Blue Jays projected contract offer to Ryan Helsley has been announce if they close the trade

The Blue Jays had the worst bullpen in baseball last season which is why they are trying desperately to try and find a solution not only for next season but for the next few years which is where Helsley comes in.

Many believe that out of all the teams interested in Helsley, the Blue Jays are the most motivated due to their current situation with how terrible their bullpen looks heading into the 2025 season.

Sportrac projects that if the Blue Jays are able to close a deal with the Cardinals in exchange for Helsley, they will sign him to a contract extension worth around $81 million over 6 years since he is entering the final year on his current contract.

Helsley is 30 years old which is why a contract on a six year term would make a ton of sense for the Blue Jays since that would keep him in Toronto until he was 37 and since he is a relief pitcher, he will likely still be in great shape by then since it is a much less demanding job than a starting pitcher.

The Blue Jays have continuously missed out of their top targets over the last two off-season but if they are able to add a closer of Helsley caliber to their bullpen, they will surely benefit from this next season.

The biggest issue here is that the Blue Jays are not the only team after him and with the Cardinals looking for solid young players to begin their rebuild, it will be hard to be out others team's offers that have a solid farm system.

Nevertheless, the Blue Jays do still have some solid young players that they can use to their advantage to land Helsley if they are properly motivated.
