The Toronto Blue Jays have made very few moves so far this off-season but a former MLB executive believes that they should sign free agent Alex Bregman.

The Blue Jays have traded for Andres Gimenez and Nick Sandlin while also signing a few free agents such as Josh Walker and Yimi Garcia but have been rather quiet for almost a week now.

Former MLB executive believes the Blue Jays should sign Alex Bregman

Former MLB executive turned analyst Jim Bowden believes that the Blue Jays should sign third baseman Alex Bregman and outfielder Anthony Santander as their top priorities of the off-season moving forward.
"The Blue Jays' best moves right now would be to sign Anthony Santander and Alex Bregman, or Bregman and [Corbin] Burnes, or Santander and Burnes, then just try to contend this year and hope it helps them re-sign [Bo] Bichette and [Vladimir] Guerrero, even if that's next offseason on the open market. Their farm system can't help much in the short term and they have little to trade so playing checkbook baseball is the only way out of this mess." -Bowden

Bowden also commented on the Blue Jays possibly signing Corbin Burnes and Bregman or Burnes and Hernandez which any of these combinations would be great for the Blue Jays next season.
Fans in Toronto clearly would love to see former player Teoscar Hernandez come back to Toronto on a four year deal and if they are able to land an ace like Corbin Burnes as well then it would be the cherry on top.
Bringing Bregman to Toronto would fit into the Blue Jays plan of trading Bo Bichette since it would allow them to move Ernie Clement over to shortstop and give them the chance to use Bichette to acquire another missing piece.
The issue with Bregman is that he is expecting to get an over close to $250 million which many believe is way above how much he is worth as his game has been on the decline over the last few seasons.
