The Toronto Blue Jays have once again missed out on another one of their trade targets as this time it is first baseman Josh Naylor that has been acquired by another team.

The Blue Jays have missed out on multiple players this off-season such as Danny Jansen, Juan Soto, Max Fried and many more, all players that they were looking to bring to Toronto but ended up missing out.

Ross Atkins misses on another trade as the Diamondbacks trade for Josh Naylor

The Blue Jays completed a massive trade with the Cleveland Guardians last week for Andres Gimenez and rumors came out afterwards that they were looking into another trade this time involving first baseman Josh Naylor.
Well it looks like Ross Atkins was outbid once again as the Arizona Diamondbacks closed a deal last night for Naylor in exchange for right handed pitched Slade Ceccione.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired first baseman Josh Naylor in a trade with the Cleveland Guardians, sources tell ESPN.
Right-hander Slade Cecconi will be headed back to Cleveland in the deal for Josh Naylor, sources tell ESPN.
This was a big mistake by Atkins as the Blue Jays could have benefited from adding Naylor due to his offensive productivity which the Blue Jays are in desperate need but it looks like they will have to look elsewhere.
The Blue Jays front-office need to start getting things done and quickly if they still want to be competitive next season as the top players available through trade or free agency are all disappearing.
Toronto needs to find a solution to their problems but if they continue to wait they will be forced once again to only land average players much like they did last off-season.
