The adjustments continue to #BlueJays coaching staff on the hitting side, per sources, as they've hired Dodgers hitting coordinator Lou Iannotti as an assistant. The 32-year-old has been with LAD in various roles since 2018.
There is not a ton of information on Ioannotti but he did play division 1 college baseball for Quinnipiac University before being hired by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018 where he has had many roles, the latest being their hitting coordinator.
Hopefully this new combo of Ioannotti and David Popkins will be beneficial to the Blue Jays offense as they have to drastically improve from last season if they want to make the playoffs in 2025.
The Blue Jays parted ways with hitting coach Guillermo Martinez after six seasons, earlier in the off-season. Toronto finished 23rd in the league in runs scored and 17th in team OPS.
Toronto hired David Popkins, formerly of the Minnesota Twins, as his replacement shortly later. -TSN
While none of the staff moves by the Blue Jays were anything major, they might actually end up doing some good if things go according to plan.
