The Toronto Blue Jays are currently in the market for an infielder and it looks like they could be interested in signing one of their former players in Brandon Drury.

The Blue Jays need to bring in at least one infielder this season and it should be either a second or third baseman since Ernie Clement can play wherever the new player doesn't.

Drury played for the Blue Jays from 2018 when he was acquired at the trade deadline from the New York Yankees up until 2020 when he was designated for assignment after a rough time in Toronto.
The Blue Jays acquired Brandon Drury before the 2018 trade deadline, shipping J.A. Happ to the New York Yankees for Drury and Billy McKinney. After parts of three seasons with the Jays, Drury played for the Mets in 2021 before finding success in 2022 and 2023 with a few different teams. -Delaney

The former Blue Jay finally came into his own in 2022 and 2023 after record back to back 20+ homerun season with time split between the Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Angels.
With the Reds, Drury slashed .274/.335/.520 with 20 home runs in 385 plate appearances for a 132 wRC+ and a 2.7 fWAR. At the 2022 trade deadline, he was traded to the San Diego Padres where he hit a grand slam on the first pitch he saw as a Padre. With the Padres, he slashed .238/.290/.435 with eight home runs in 183 plate appearances, giving him a 123 wRC+ and a 3.1 fWAR for the season. -Delaney

Unfortunately, 2024 did not go as well as he hit only 4 homeruns with a .169 batting average and .242 on base percentage which is why the Angels decided to let him go as he is now a free agent.
However, Drury didn't have the same success in 2024, slashing .169/.242/.228 with four home runs in 360 plate appearances for a 34 wRC+ and a -2.1 fWAR, the worst mark of his career. -Delaney

Drury could be a solid signing for the Blue Jays since he would likely not cost them much as he is projected to sign a 1 year deal worth $1.2 million.
Signing Drury to a 1 year deal could make a ton of sense for the Blue Jays if they are unable to land any other infielders but if they are, they could always offer him a minor league deal.
Thanks to the poor season, Spotrac predicts that Drury's market value is $1.2 million. The site believes he'll sign a one-year deal worth $1.238 million, a good buy-low candidate. -Delaney

It will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays end up offering Drury a deal.
