The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to find at least one solid outfielder to help them for next season and as the Chicago Cubs seem to have put outfielder Cody Bellinger on the trade block, the Blue Jays could be a great fit.

Rumors were everywhere online a few days ago regarding Bellinger and the Blue Jays after the MLB Network posted an image of a potential trade between the two teams but fans were quick to say it would be a bad move since both Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Kevin Gausman were involved.

The Blue Jays seem to be interested in trading for Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger

The Cubs have stated that they are interested in trading Bellinger after he accepted his player option with the team this off-season and many believe that Toronto could be a perfect fit.
The Chicago Cubs have indicated that they are willing to trade former MVP Cody Bellinger and the popular MLBTradeRumors site has listed the Toronto Blue Jays as one of three "best fits" in a potential deal. The Blue Jays are joined on that list by the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies. -Farkas

The Blue Jays outfield needs some help and if they are bale to bring in a solid defender that can also hit like Bellinger, it might end up being a great move if they don't have to give up too much.
Bellinger has another option coming up after this season which means he could end up just being in Toronto for 1-2 years which if things don't workout, it is a low risk move as they don't have to worry about him eating up too much payroll for many years.
Furthermore, Bellinger has a player option after the 2025 season. That means he could end up being a one-year rental, but regardless, he won't take up a huge chunk of payroll for years to come. Should the team elect to sign Vladimir Guerrero Jr. or Bo Bichette long-term, they won't have to worry about Bellinger taking up too much room on the balance sheet. -Farkas

While Bellinger is coming off a down year, he still put up decent numbers with 18 homeruns and a .266 batting average but it is unfortunately far away from his MVP numbers in 2019 with 47 homeruns and 115 RBIs.
The 29-year-old Bellinger is coming off a year in which he hit .266 for the Cubs, popping 18 home runs. A lifetime .259 hitter, Bellinger is an eight-year veteran of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cubs. He won the MVP in 2019 with the Dodgers when he hit 47 homers and drove in 115 runs. -Farkas

If the Blue Jays are able to land him without giving up too much, this move could make a lot of sense this off-season.
