Former Toronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano has now been a free agent for a little over a week and reports suggest he has peaked the interest of multiple teams.

The Blue Jays announced right before the deadline that they decided to non-tender Romano since they felt $7.5 million was too much to pay him with all the uncertainties surrounding him.

Since being non-tender by the Blue Jays and becoming a free agent, Romano has become one of the top relief pitchers available on the free agent market and it will he will surely be landing a new contract for next season.
After being non-tendered by the Toronto Blue Jays, closer Jordan Romano was listed as one of the most intriguing non-tendered players to watch for the remainder of the offseason.

The list was compiled by MLBTradeRumors. Romano was joined on that list by Kyle Finnegan (Nationals), Hoby Milner (Brewers), Patrick Sandoval (Angels) and Cal Quantrill (Rockies), all of whom will be looking for fresh starts in 2025. -SI.com

Romano will surely land himself a decent contract for next season but the money might end up being lower than most expect since he struggled last year and had issue during his injury recovery over the last few months.
Lifetime, he's 20-17 with a 2.90 ERA. He saved 105 games for the Blue Jays and made two All-Star teams. He also was a part of playoff teams in 2020, 2022 and 2023.

However, he's coming off a terrible 2024 season in which he had a 6.59 ERA over just 15 appearances. He dealt with elbow troubles throughout the season. -SI.com

There is still a chance that the Blue Jays bring him back since they can now sign him for much less than he was expected to make if tendered but Romano might be reluctant to go back after they released him.
Hopefully Romano will be able to land a solid contract this off-season, whether it's with the Blue Jays or another team.
