The Toronto Blue Jays announce the schedule for the starting rotation to start the season
The Toronto Blue Jays have announced their starting rotation for the first five games of the season which will likely be the order they use for the majority of the season if everyone stays healthy.
The Blue Jays starting rotation schedule has been announced for the start of the season
Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced last week that veteran pitcher Jose Berrios will be taking the mound for the Blue Jays on Opening Day for the second year in a row.
According to MLB insider Arden Zwelling, the Blue Jays will have Kevin Gausman pitching second followed by Max
Scherzer third, Chris Bassitt third then Bowden Francis pitching for the first game of the series against the Washington Nationals.
Max Scherzer's right thumb responded well to yesterday's 62-pitch start. Assuming he's ready for start of the season, Blue Jays will line up their rotation like so:
3/27 vs BAL - Berrios
3/28 vs BAL - Gausman
3/29 vs BAL - Scherzer
3/30 vs BAL - Bassitt
3/31 vs WSH - Francis
If the Blue Jays have all of their starting pitchers at the top of their game, they will surely have one of the best starting rotations in the American League if not the entire MLB.
While some fans were slightly disappointed with the Blue Jays off-season, they is no denying that their team will be a lot more interesting to watch this season as they have a real chance of going deep in the playoffs.
Only two more days until Opening Day.
