The Toronto Blue Jays announced yesterday that they have signed another pitcher, this time young pitcher Jarlin Ugarte.

The Blue Jays missed out on Roki Sasaki this off-season after trading for additional bonus pool money from the Cleveland Guardians but they have not let that money go to waste as they have been using it to sign plenty of young players.

Blue Jays announce that they have signed Jarlin Ugarte to a minor league deal

The Blue Jays recently announced that they have put their bonus pool money to good use once again signing young pitcher Jarlin Ugarte to a minor league contract for the 2025 season.
The Toronto Blue Jays signed RHP Jarlin Ugarte to a minor league contract.
There is not much known about Ugarte apart from that he seems to be a solid pitcher with quite a large frame as they have him listed a 6 foot 4 and 220 lbs which is big for anyone, let alone a teenager.
The Blue Jays have yet to announce where Ugarte will begin his career with the Blue Jays but there is a good chance that they send him to the Dominican Summer League which is where they have sent many of their recent international signed players.
The Blue Jays have signed a lot of young players so far this year which is a great idea since they need to continue to develop their farm system which is currently ranked 27th among all MLB teams.
The other important part of this is that the Blue Jays are quite aware right now that they have very little depth at pitching position which is why bringing in more young pitchers can only help.
It will be interesting to see in the future if any of these players end up turning into solid MLB players down the road.
