The Toronto Blue Jays announce some absolutely shocking cuts this evening as both Joey Loperfido and Leo Jimenez have been optioned to Triple-A.
The Blue Jays made some massive cuts yesterday as 5 players were optioned to Triple-A including Orelvis Martinez and another 4 players were sent to minor league camp.

The Blue Jays are less than a week away from Opening Day as they are currently in the process of making the final cuts for their team and made some shocking moves this evening.
MLB insider Keegan Matheson broke the news that top prospects Leo Jimenez and Joey Loperfido have both been optioned to Triple-A to start the 2025 season which most did not see coming.

While both players going down to the minors is a shock to most fans, the biggest one is definitely Loperfido as most thought he was guaranteed a bench spot with the way he has been playing in Spring Training.
It will be interesting to see what the Blue Jays bench looks like to start the season but it seems like Alan Roden might actually land a spot.
Hopefully sending Loperfido down was the right move and he will improve and be back up in the majors in no time.
