The MLB does not have a ton of a Canadian baseball players but out of that small group, Abraham Toro, Nick Pivetta and Tyler O'Neill can all be headed home next season if the Toronto Blue Jays decide to sign them.

There was a total of 17 Canadian players in the majors last season, 3 of them are heading to free agency this winter and could be a fit for the Toronto Blue Jays as they look to improve their roster for the 2025 season.

The Blue Jays could look at brining in a few Canadian free agents for next season

The most obvious choice on the market is Red Sox outfielder Tyler O'Neill who could be a great fit in Toronto as they are looking for some help in the outfield plus at the plate where O'Neill just finished a 31 homerun season.
A player that Blue Jays fans are quite fond of already given the trade rumours over the years, Tyler O'Neill was dealt to the Boston Red Sox last winter from the Cardinals and took his plus power to the AL East for a full season. In a contract year before hitting free agency for the first time in his career, O'Neill posted a .241/.336/.511 slash line with a .847 OPS through 113 games and 411 at-bats - the most since his breakout 2021 season. -Shushkewich

Another option that could be interesting to the Blue Jays is pitcher Nick Pivetta who also just finished the season with the Red Sox with a 4.14 ERA in 145 innings pitched. While the Blue Jays are looking for a top end starting pitcher, Pivetta might not be that but could definitely be a solid option at the bottom of the rotation.

While this free agent class is more stacked than last season, the right-hander is due for a sizeable raise from the $7.5 million salary he earned last year and should be an option for multiple teams as a back-end rotation piece -Shushkewich

Finally there is also Quebec native Abraham Toro who struggled this past season but the Blue Jays could look at bringing him in on a minor league deal.
For the Quebec product, he is likely looking for a minor league deal heading into the new year as he looks to get back on track and there will likely be multiple teams lining up to give him a shot in Spring Training, considering there is no such thing as a bad MiLB deal. -Shushkewich
