Free agent outfielder Teoscar Hernandez has called out thee Los Angeles Dodgers by stating he wants not deferred money in his new contract which could be good for the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays have shown a lot of interest in their former outfielder Teoscar Hernandez who could be a great addition to their lineup as he would bring a ton of offense next season which they need.

Teoscar Hernandez states he wants no deferred money in new contract which might cause issues for the Dodgers

According to reports, Hernandez top choice is to return to Los Angeles next season but the contract negotiations have stalled due to his signings bonus and the fact that he does not want any deferred money.
The stall in the contract negotiations is due to the average annual value and the signing bonus of Hernández's deal, per Dodgers Nation's Noah Camras. Additionally, Hernández doesn't want any deferrals in his contract, a key aspect of several deals done by the Dodgers. -Martinez

Hernandez has stated on more than one occasion that he wants to return to the Dodgers but there is a chance that the Blue Jays can pull him away if they present a better offer.
If Toronto makes Hernández a better offer, the outfielder would highly consider joining the Blue Jays. Hernández, 32, is looking for a fourth-year in his next contract although any team that signs the outfielder would lose a draft pick. The Dodgers extended Hernández a qualifying offer, meaning any non-Dodgers team that signs him would lose a draft pick. -Martinez

If the Blue Jays are able to land Hernandez, they would end up losing a draft pick since he declined a qualifying offer from the Dodgers earlier this off-season but this would clearly not be an issue for the Blue Jays.
The Dodgers have been known to defer a lot of their contract lately with Shohei Ohtani and Blake Snell taking massive deferred contracts but it looks like Hernandez wants no part of that which is a good thing for the Blue Jays.
If Toronto raises their offer to a four year term, they will likely be able to land Hernandez who has been getting only three year offers and is looking for job security.
