Prior to the Blue Jays game against the Astros yesterday, Vladimir Guerrero was taken out of the lineup.
Guerrero was hit by a pitch against the Yankees and his fingers have swollen up to the point where he cannot grip the bat properly. Manager John Schneider said he did not play because he was not comfortable holding the bat but could be still be an option for today.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tried to hit pre-game today and «wasn't comfortable squeezing the bat», John Schneider said.
He wasn't available to pinch-hit late, either. The #BlueJays will see how he feels tomorrow.
The star first baseman hopes he will be good to play today and it is a positive that the scans can back with nothing broken or fractured in his hand.
