The Toronto Blue Jays Spencer Horwitz was by far their best rookie this past season but it looks like it might have not been enough to not get him traded this off-season.

The Blue Jays are in need of bringing in an everyday infielder whether it is a second or third baseman since they have a ton of solid young players but none that they see good enough defensively to play everyday.

The Blue Jays could look into possibly trading Spencer Horwitz

As the Blue Jays are looking at multiple options for the 20225 season between signings and trade, which is why Spencer Horwitz is seen as a player that could possibly be done in Toronto.
The reason that the Blue Jays could look into moving Horwitz is that he is not solid enough defensively to be their starting second baseman but his bat is strong enough that they could use him as a solid trade chip.
Horwitz, like Barger, is an obvious casualty-in-the-making of the Blue Jays' major logjam around the infield.

His inability to take to second base smoothly makes him a defensively limited player and that lowers his value to the Blue Jays but not necessarily to other teams. He is a prime candidate to get everyday playing time somewhere, but the fit just isn't there in Toronto.

They could keep him aboard if the trade offers really don't come close to what they're seeking, and they'd be able to make it work, but Horwitz has a ton of value and a not-so-obvious fit on this roster moving forward. -Treuden

If the Blue Jays do decide to move on from Horwitz, they could likely package him with another decent prospect and get a great return for the 2025 season that could impact the team immediately.
Even if the Blue Jays end up trading Horwitz, he will still have been a great tool for the Blue Jays since he was a 24th round pick in 2019 that turned into a solid player for them that they would eventually use to improve their current roster.
While nothing is set in stone for Horwitz future with the Blue Jays, it is hard to ignore that he does not fit into their plans moving forward which is why he is one of their more likely players to be moved this off-season.
