Big news announced for former beloved Blue Jay Kevin Pillar

Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar has made the opening day roster for the Texas Rangers after many in Major League Baseball felt he was ready to retire.
Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News made the announcement as Pillar may find himself in several different positions including designated hitter or the centre field.
Pillar was key member of 2015 Blue Jays playoff team
The memorable 2015 Toronto Blue Jays will always be a team that will be remembered by the fans to which Pillar was part of where former Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos pulled out all the stops to assemble a team that had the ingredients to win a World Series.
After 12 Major League seasons, Kevin Pillar isn't ready to walk away just yet. The Texas Rangers announced on Sunday that they have signed Pillar to a Minor League deal with an invite to Major League Spring Training
The Texas Rangers where their division opponent during the playoffs and will always go down as a series in Blue Jays history that will never be forgotten especially the 7th inning in Game 5.
After his stint with the Blue Jays, Pillar traveled many teams in Major League Baseball including the San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Angels.
Pillar hit .229 last season between the White Sox and Angels. Lifetime, he's a .255 hitter with 114 home runs. He hit a career-high 21 homers back in 2019 with the Giants and has five seasons of double-digit home runs. - Brady Farkas
Blue Jays ready for their home opener on Thursday
The clock is ticking down for the Toronto Blue Jays and their home opener as this will be their first home opener an opening day of the season in three years.
With the opening roster set, Blue Jays fans will be shuffling into the Rogers Centre to see what general manager Ross Atkins along with mark Shapiro have come up with in terms of a roster with manager John Schneider.
The Blue Jays will face off against the Orioles in their first series of the year and then they will turn their attention to the Washington Nationals.
Opening day will take place on March 27th and the first pitch will be thrown at 3:07 PM eastern.
