The Toronto Blue Jays still seem interested in trading Bo Bichette this off-season and it looks like Alex Anthopoulos and the Atlanta Braves could be very interested.
The Braves had a let down of a season as they have steadily become used to competing for a World Series in recent years and it looks like one area their are trying to improve in the off season in their shortstop.
Braves interested in trading for Bo Bichette this off season
Orlando Arcia who is the Braves current shortstop is no seen as a full time starter anymore and there have been rumors that Anthopoulos could be very interested in bringing in Bo Bichette.
With these rumors flying around there has been some whispers of a possible deal between the two teams in which the Blue Jays would get shortstop Orlando Arcia, catcher Drake Baldwin and RHP AJ Smith-Shawyer in exchange for Bo Bichette.
Atlanta Braves Receive SS Bo Bichette
Toronto Blue Jays Receive SS Orlando Arcia C Drake Baldwin RHP AJ Smith-Shawver
This deal could be great for the Blue Jays who have been looking to move on from Bichette and would be getting the Braves top prospect in return who happens to be a catcher in Drake Baldwin which they desperately need despite Ross Atkins stating that bringing in a catcher is not a priority for them.
Defensively, you are not losing much pivoting off Orlando Arcia in favor of Bichette, if at all. Going Toronto's way would have to include the Braves' best prospect, in my eyes, in catcher Drake Baldwin. He is talented, but is buried on the Braves' depth chart behind Travis d'Arnaud, Sean Murphy and Chadwick Tromp. -Buhler
This move could make sense for both teams despite some small alternations such as getting rid of AJ Smith-Shawyer for a more promising pitcher.
