Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Max Scherzer has been out for quite some time and it looks like he is finally progressing towards a return to the mound.

Scherzer has been out since his first game of the season with a thumb injury that he has been dealing with since last season which kept him out for the majority of the season.

The Blue Jays have been taking it day by day with Scherzer as he has still been dealing with pain in right thumb on his throwing hand but it looks like things are starting to look up.
According to reports, Scherzer just got another shot of cortisone to help with inflammation and will be taking a couple days off from throwing before joining the team in Houston next week.
Max Scherzer got a cortisone shot in a knuckle on his right thumb per mgr John Schneider. He'll take a couple days off throwing with plans to rejoin Blue Jays in Houston next week. Would ideally start throwing soon afterwards.
According to manager John Schneider the plan is for Scherzer to start to throw again in Houston and hopefully from there make a return to the mound not long after that if everything works out.
Max Scherzer got a 2nd cortisone shot, this time in a different area of his thumb.

John Schneider says that he'll rejoin the team on the road and they hope he'll start to throw again there.

From there, we'll see. #BlueJays

Fans are excited to get Scherzer back as he was one of their biggest signings of the off-season but fans have barely been able to watch him this season.
