Justin Turner has proved to be a bright spot for the Blue Jays, as the team as a whole is failing to live up to their high offensive expectations. inconsistent is an understatement.

Exactly what this team needed!

After the first 6 games, it is apparent that the Toronto Blue Jays are severely struggling at the plate. Recently, the Houston Astros had held them to only 3 runs in their 3-game series, one of which was a no-hitter.
Amidst the struggles, new Blue Jay Justin Turner, who is now 39, has shown that he can still be an elite hitter and is proving that age is just a number. In 20 AB he has 7 hits, 5 of which for extra bases, 1 HR and 4 RBI's. His .350 AVG and 1.135 OPS is way above league average and is what the Jays need right now out of a veteran and leader.
The Blue Jays signed Justin Turner to a one-year deal worth $13 million in the offseason and according to General Manager Ross Atkins, his assets run deeper than just what he can do on the field.
"Justin Turner has proven himself not only as an exceptional player on the field, but also an exemplary leader in the clubhouse, his history of delivering in big moments and his consistent pursuit of winning are admirable traits." - Atkins

Fans should be stoked with Turners early production this season, but they are hoping more that his leadership skills can translate in helping the other hitters on the team find their confidence.
The Blue Jays take on the New York Yankees tomorrow at 1:05p.m EST. (April 5th)
