The Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider recently sat down with reporter Shi David to speak on his future in Toronto as he remains under contract next year.
The Blue Jays are set to wrap up their disappointing 2024 season this week end in Florida as they take on the Miami Marlins in a two games series.
As the end of the year approaches, everyone is wondering what kind of moves will the team make this summer as they are hoping for a better outcome next year.
There has been a lot of rumors throughout the season regarding Schneider and his job security as many believe he should be fire after failing to take the team far after multiple years as manager.
Schneider sat down with Sportsnet's Shi David to speak of his future in Toronto stating that he is looking forward to next year with the Blue Jays but when asked on if there has been any talk of extension, he did not comment.
. @ShiDavidi spoke to John Schneider about his future and whether there have been any extension talks.
« we are looking forward to next year, and I think that we've got a good head start on it. I am under contract and I'm thrilled to continue to lead this team.»

Fans were quick to state on social media following the interview that Schneider does not deserve an extension and that the entire front office should be relieved of their position after failing time and time again.
Extension? The entire front office and coaching staff should be gone. Any serious organization would do it. Sadly the current Blue Jays group is unserious about winning anything.
Schneider has to go. At some point, it's the job of the manager to create an atmosphere of consistency and success. He has done neither. Just one bad decision after another.
