The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Boston Red Sox for their final game of the year in Toronto and it was a memorable night for rookie Jonatan Clase.

Clase was acquired at the trade deadline by the Blue Jays from the Seattle Mariners along with catcher Jacob Sharp in a trade that sent relief pitcher Yimi Garcia to Seattle for the two prospects.
The young prospect but up solid numbers in Triple-A for the Buffalo Bisons which led to him finally getting called up on September 19th.
Last night against the Red Sox, Clase hit his first big league homerun in the 7th innings which was a two run shot giving the Blue Jays a 6-1 lead. This was Clase's fourth hit in the MLB since being called up.
And then what is a night in a meaningless September without a young prospect having one of those nights to remember. That was the case for 22-year-old outfielder Jonatan Clase, who took over the leadoff spot and was on base all four times with three hits and a walk.
Clase capped his night with a two-run homer in the seventh inning, the first major-league bomb of his career. -Ganter

rookie clobbers his first big league homer to right-center:
Clase spoke to the media after the game stating that seeing that ball go into the stands for his first career homerun was a dream come true that he has been thinking about since he was a kid.
Asked about it afterward, Classe said it was just like a dream circling the bases after the homer. The perfect ending was getting that home run ball back, which the team did for him and will have a special place in his parent's home as soon as he can get it back there. -Ganter
