Former MLB GM states the New York Yankees are all in on Vladimir Guerrero Jr

Former New York Mets GM Steve Phillips announced that the New York Yankees will be all in on on Vladimir Guerrero Jr now that he is not signing a contract extension with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The city of Toronto has been flipped upside down since the news broke yesterday that the Blue Jays were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Steve Phillips stated that the Yankees are all in on Guerrero now that he will be testing free agency
Phillips stated that the Yankees will be all in on trying to land Guerrero next off-season as he believes they will offer him a but less than what Juan Soto signed for but will still surpass the Blue Jays offer by quite a bit.
The former Mets GM believes this move make sense for the Yankees since they will need someone at first base after they let go of Paul Goldschmidt and Guerrero will end up being a replacement for Soto's offense but at a cheaper price.
"I think he's going to be a Yankee," said Phillips. "I think that Goldschmidt will be out after the year. Alonso won't opt out and Vladdy's going to be a Yankee. They're going to give him short of (Juan) Soto money. In the end, they'll have Vladdy and (Aaron) Judge in the middle of the lineup, instead of Soto and Judge. They'll end up having spent less money and they'll end up being a great team moving forward. They'll be the best in the American League for years. I think Vladdy is a Yanke moving forward." -Phillips
Adding Guerrero to the already incredible Yankees lineup that went to the World Series last season will give them the perfect addition to keep them on top of the American League for a longtime.
The Yankees just won the American League before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. They are a historic organization with a winning history. Adding Guerrero could be the piece that gets them over the hump. -mohammed
Blue Jays fans will be crushed to see Guerrero in pinstripes but at the end of the day this is all on Ross Atkins who was not willing to make Guerrero the right offer to keep him in Toronto.
Hopefully a miracle takes place where Guerrero ends up staying but it certainly does not look good.
