Toronto acquired prospect Jonatan Clase in a trade that sent reliever Yimi Garcia to the Seattle Mariners at the trade deadline.
Clase has been in Triple-A since being acquired and finally got called up the majors a few days ago as Bo Bichette's season ended due to a finger fracture.
Last night against the Rays, Clase got his first career hit as a Blue Jay which was a single in the 7th inning as he finished the game 1 for 2 at the plate.
Jonatan Clase's first #BlueJays hit!
This is great for Clase's confidence as he will likely build off the end of this season as he looks to try and make the opening day roster in 2025.
