1B Spencer Horwitz had a procedure to his right wrist last week to address chronic symptoms. The procedure was performed by Dr. Thomas Graham.

We anticipate a full recovery in approximately six-to-eight weeks.
Pirates GM Ben Cherington stated in a press conference this morning that the team knew that Horwitz had wrist issues when they acquired him from the Guardians but they still felt good about trading for him since it does not seem to be a big issue.
Ben Cherington said the Pirates knew Spencer Horwitz had «symptoms» of wrist issues at the time he was acquired via trade, but the team still felt comfortable enough to make the move. He added that the issues that led to Horwitz's surgery surfaced after PiratesFest.
It has been a tough few months for Horwitz as he has been traded twice and will now miss all of Spring Training and possibly the start of the season.
Hopefully he is able to recover quickly and not miss too much of the regular season.
