The Toronto Blue Jays have high hopes to land a few all-star free agents this off-season but MLB insider Dan Plesac believes their top targets will land elsewhere.
Dan Plesac believes the Blue Jays will miss out on all their top free agent targets
The Blue Jays like most teams would love to sign superstar Juan Soto but it looks like the top teams to land him are now the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets which makes it almost impossible for the Blue Jays to compete with.
Since the chances of landing Soto are slim, the Blue Jays seem to have their eyes on pitcher Max Fried as their top free agent target and outfielder Anthony Santander to help bring in offense next season.
Unfortunately, according to MLB insider and former Blue Jays player Dan Plesac, the Blue Jays will end up missing out on both since he thinks that Santander will end up signing with the Mariners while Fried will end up with the Orioles.
What do you think about @Plesac19 's predictions?
If Plesac ends up being right with all these predications, the Blue Jays will end up with no all-stars this off-season and fans will likely see a repeat of last year where all they were able to sign were below average players.
The Blue Jays need to find a way to land at least one of these players if they plan on being a competitive team next season, if the Ross Atkins is unable to land a big time player, there is a good chance he is fired before the start of next season.
While fans would love to see the Blue Jays sign a big name, they will still be happy if the owners decide to part ways with Mark Shapiro and Atkins if no big deals get done this winter.
