The New York Mets announced that they signed starting pitcher Frankie Montas to a deal as the Toronto Blue Jays need to start making some moves before everyone is gone.

Last week fans saw free agent Blake Snell sign a massive deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers and now Montas is headed to New York, there is still a ton of players on the board but the Blue Jays need to start making moves.

Monttas had a very average season last year split between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds where he pitched 150.2 innings with a 4.84 ERA which is why fans were shocked to see the number he signed for.
Right-hander Frankie Montas and the New York Mets are in agreement on a two-year, $34 million contract, pending physical, sources tell ESPN. Montas, 31, threw 150.2 innings with a 4.84 ERA with Cincinnati and Milwaukee last year. He's the first piece in the Mets' new rotation.
Will the Blue Jays were not in the market for an average starting pitcher of Montas' caliber, there has now been a few pitchers taken off the board without Toronto closing a single signing which is starting to worry fans.
There is also the fact that if Montas is signing for $17 million per season, the Blue Jays hopes of landing a star pitcher for $15-20 million per season seems like a pipe dream at this point.
