The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Boston Red Sox yesterday in a tough performance all around as Danny Jansen had is first game back in Toronto since being traded.
Pitcher Chris
Bassitt was on the mound for the Blue Jays and had an absolutely brutal game giving up four hits and two earned runs while walking seven batter in 4.1 innings pitched.
After the game, the Blue Jays mentioned how despite Sunday being Bassitt's turn in the rotation, they might end up sitting him and have the bullpen split the entire game which did not seem to sit right with Bassitt.
Bassitt told reporters that he will not let the bullpen cover his game and added that if they had Yarbough start, it would not be fair to him as he is about to enter free agency and this could damage his stock. He also added that just because it is a meaningless last game of the season, this does not mean that he should sit out since he is fully healthy and ready to pitch.

Blue Jays haven't yet named a starter for Game 162 on Sunday. It lines up as Chris Bassitt's start day, but club could opt instead for a bullpen game or calling someone up from the minors.
After his Monday start, Bassitt shared his opinion on the matter:
Fans loved Bassitt's fiery reaction as it proved that despite the disappointing season, he wants to compete until the very last out which is the type of passion the fans love to see from their layers.
As a true pro would say. It's nice to see that even though the season was hot garbage, that someone still wants to play.
What is the issue here? Bassitt is healthy. It's his turn in the rotation. Why wouldn't he start? Why does this idiot management group have to galaxy brain everything?
