The Blue Jays season has been quite the disappointment this year despite their recent rise in play since the trade-deadline.

As everyone looks forward to the 2025 season with a ton of hope, if the Blue Jays truly want to make a push for the World Series next year, they will have to make some big moves in the off-season.
Kevin Gausman, Vladimir Guerrero, Bo Bichette and Chris Bassitt are all headed into the final year of their contract next season which means one of these players might be moved in the off-season.
Most MLB executives believe that Guerrero will be will be re-signed and Chris Bassitt does not hold a big enough trade value to get the return they need which leaves Gausman and Bichette. The Blue Jays do not have any superstar pitchers ready to make the jump to the MLB to replace Gausman which is why trading Bichette makes more sense, especially since he has voiced that he would welcome a trade.
«I sense there is interest on their part to move Bichette,» an AL executive said. «Buying a guy out of his arb years and not extending him further sends a message that either he or they have concern past the six years they have him.»

While trading Bichette seems like the more logical option, that does not mean this is what Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro will end up doing.
