Blue Jays Alejandro Kirk needs some serious help

Since the Blue Jays dealt catcher Danny Jansen at the trade deadline, Alejandro Kirk has been heavily relied upon by Toronto.
In 35 games since the deadline, Kirk has been the catcher for 26 of those games for a total of 206.1 innings.
While it is great for the development of the 25 year old to see so many games from behind the plate, this level of use will likely have consequences at some point. the season is almost done but if the Blue Jays do not find a solid second option for next season, this might lead to an injury.
Manager John Schneider agreed that it is a tough spot to be in but that they are looking at Kirk right now and seeing how he handles this to see how they will move forward next season.
«He's doing a really good job,» said manager John Schneider. «He's catching a lot. And this is a time where we want to see what he can do, not just at the plate but behind the plate, and how he holds up physically, how he's holding up mentally. It's a tough spot to be in. And it's been nice that he's been right in the middle of what we've been doing offensively the last few weeks. Hopefully he can finish strong.»
It will be interesting to see if they make any moves in the off-season to help Kirk out.
